We're taking a break from the campaign trail and hitting the running trail. Over the coming weeks, Ill run 5 K races to help bring awareness to important issues in Dallas County. For this race, we are focusing on Dallas County's efforts to prevent heat-related deaths this summer through the Each One Reach One campaign. Citizens are asked to check on your neighbors, especially the elderly or disabled, to see if they have a working air-conditioner unit in their home. The County operates the Comprehensive Energy Assistance Program (CEAP), which providing low-income families in our community with the basic necessities, such as electricity, gas and the heating and cooling of their homes.
